For as long as I can remember, education has been important to me.
I have continually sought and aspired to be part of the future of education through my work in public, private, charter and online schools. I have been dedicated to the growth in educational models, specialties and programs that have been developed to serve and support the growing differences in student needs. I truly believe that all students can learn and be successful. It is my dream and dedication as an educator to use my years of experience to best support the students and families who work with me so that their students succeed in school and in life.
I was born in Denver, Colorado and in my younger years lived in in Sheridan, Wyoming where my father was on staff at the VA Hospital as a psychiatrist, and my mother was an RN.
In my teen years we moved back to Denver where I attended high school, college, got married, had three children and then returned to college again.
Education was an important part of my upbringing and I have strived to pass on its importance to my own family as well.
I believe that education can bring increased success both personally and professionally.
I received my BA at Colorado Christian University in 2005 and my MA and Principal Licensure at University of Colorado Denver in 2015.
My oldest son is married. He and wife have Master’s degrees in Math from Montana State University in Bozeman. Both are math faculty at Red Rocks Community College.
My middle son is currently studying at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana working on his PhD in Particle Physics.
My youngest daughter recently graduated with a BA in Public Health from the University of Colorado at Denver and is currently choosing graduate programs to attend to further her education.
I recognize that all parents care deeply about their students and want what is best for them. I am passionate about coming alongside families to assist and ensure that all students, regardless of their challenges or struggles, get the guidance and support they need to be successful in their futures.
I bring this passion and strength of fostering relationships to my career as an Educational Consultant.
Professional Development classes and trainings help me to stay current on changes in our various school communities. I attend tranings for school leadership and school counselors as much as time allows.
Here are some recent classes and workshops that I found especially impactful:
At Risk Youth, Literacy, Best Teaching Practices, Family/School Engagement; Creating Change in Schools; Students in Crisis, and Closing the Achievement Gap.
It is my wish to make the time that we work together positive and productive for everyone.
My hobbies are reading, triathlon and tennis. For entertainment, I like fiction thrillers from John Grisham, Stephan White, Jonathan Kellerman, and many more.
One of my favorite quotes:
“The longer I love, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company…a church….a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our attitudes.”

Whatever your concerns or needs, I do my best to help you in a cost-effective, courteous, and time-efficient manner. Having been in the public school system in Colorado for twenty years, I have worked with thousands of children, adolescents and their families in a variety of educational settings. My goal is to help you find a pathway that is right for you and your child or young adult, and then thereafter, to remain a trusted resource you can refer to, at any time.
